PARIS - During the Grand Slam in Paris, the IJF presented several awards. After receiving the 'Golden Judogi' award in his own country, Matthias Casse also won an international award. The Award 'Greatest Judo Moment of 2022' went jointly to Casse and his opponent, the Georgian Grigalashvili. Both judokas put the entire judo community on the edge of their seats as soon as they compete against each other on the tatami.
“The pair has become a highlight for the World Judo Tour. The battle between two titans that everyone is looking forward to, as we know, will always be dynamic, intelligent, and purely entertaining. This is what the (judo) sport is all about as well as the respect that the athletes have for each other,” said IJF President Marius Vizer.
